Definition

Brokerage commission is the trading fee you pay to the bank or online broker for executing a stock trade. It is the broker payment for connecting you to the exchange and carrying out the trade.

Nordnet example: 0.05% with minimum 39 NOK. Buy for 10,000 NOK = pay 39 NOK. Buy for 100,000 NOK = pay 50 NOK.
Remember: Brokerage is paid on both buying and selling. One round trip = two commissions. Trading frequently means brokerage eats much of your returns.
